The Backyards Are Better in Australia

In her masterclass, Annie Leibovitz discusses the value of capturing the things you see every day. Many photographers’ Achilles heel is to take for granted what’s immediately around them. I’ve often found myself wanting to go overseas to capture drone imagery or landscapes, when I live in a country with the greatest outback the world has to offer. The best reef, the bluest oceans. The backyards are better in Australia, and it’s part of my mission this year to experience it in more detail. This was captured on assignment in Phillip Island earlier in 2020 – pre-lockdown, post-bushfires. 2020.
